My Bewtipoool Ear~

Did otoscopy and ear examination last Monday - it was entertaining. I did this before back in IM UBD, so this would be a revision for me. What's cool about it is that the faculty got this otoscope with camera in the end, just like a endoscopy but for the ear. So we took some pictures of our ear and thanks to Edah, she brought her camera so we all can see how beaaaaautiful my ears are kekekkeke..

My friends said that mine is so clear that they can see almost everything that should be seen in a normal otoscope examination including the handle of malleus, a clear transparent eardrum, a shadow hint of the handle of incus, the chordae tympanae and even the anterior part of my ear - which is often blocked by our temporal mandibular jaw.


What I'm trying to say is that...i'm proud of my ear :D

Victoria Infirmary

I've been posted to a new hospital for block 14 and 15. I was in Inverclyde for the past 10 weeks and it's such a pain in the arse really to travel the long way just to go for pbl, if we happen not to have clinical practice in the morning. I mean I don't mind if we're gonna travel that long way if we're having a really good productive pbl, but most of the time they really sucks - ppl here couldn't be bothered to brainstorm and when they do explain the pathology/pathogenesis/etc, they explain it like as if we're still in 6th form! What screwed about the PBL here is that the students already know what PBL they're covering so when it comes to hypothesising, they just blindly pull the trigger. All they think about is to get home as early as possible.

Ok, I'm in a crappy mood...just because I'm tired from hospital so excuse my french if they do appear somewhere in this post.

Victoria - started last Tuesday, have to travel by train now, no more free ride :(. Well, I kinda like the train ride now, except the part of getting to the station in time so I won't miss the early train. That part - is a pain in the bahooki (arse/ass in Scottish).

Victoria is rather a big hospital compared to inverclyde, not that far though. just 3 stations away from the Glasgow central. They're more organised, and the good thing is that say if we don't have any clinical teaching that particular day / no one turns up for us, then we could go to certain wards/departments where we at least could do something worthwhile. At least, I wouldn't be complaining of how worth it is to travel to the hospital. I like it so far.

My new PBL mates are nice too. I get along with most of them very well, compared to my old group. One/two are quite bitchy and dominative, but that's to be expected. Few seems to be frightened to talk to me, while the rest are just nice. No complain here.

Today, I had my friday PBL and I discovered that its not the same place where we go for Tuesday PBL. I was panicking last night, trying to get the map and directions on how to get there. It wasn't hard really, but the map makes it so complicated. I'm a really suck with maps. I've decided then to ask the ppl around, which I did, and it makes my life a whole lot easier. A good productive PBL as well I guess, not as up to standard as the one in IM, but better I supposed.

Owh what's best about going to Victoria is that the train stops at the Pollokshield East Stn which is where we get our Halal Subway!!! Isn't that sweeet! Now I can just drop by anytime I feel like eating them :D

Victoria Victoria Victoria...what else.... I supposed that's all. It's too early to say anything. It's just my first week, haven't even started my clinical teaching yet, so yea, we'll see how it goes.

Pastaaaa

I made my own favourite pasta dish today, for the first time ever in Glasgow - My baked macaroni bolognese with cheese. It's been a long postponed project of mine and it feels good to make bake and eat them again...The last time I made them was the day before i left Brunei. Lepas 5 bulan, baru tah terbuat lagi disini.


Btw - there's no special occasion why I decided to make the pasta. Its one of those impulsive moments you know lol apakan, talking crap here. Anwayyyy, so i made a set for dorang edah, syuk, al and nizam as my flatmates went to stayover at nizam's.


As in for me, I went with my bodyguards to jimster's crib to hawk the rest of the other sets of pasta which i made for my awesome bodyguards. Darn, I wish I took some pictures last nite..owh well.

Owh owh owh....I have the pleasure to eat one of the most delicious mashed potato everrr, which was made by gf of my fren...nyaaaaaman.....Khal, ko pernah buat mashed potato? if u do, cari kan recipe nya ah.. I have an idea plang, but not really positively sure. That will be my next project / task, after the roti john and dessert project :P

Battle of the Rock Bands

Had Chinese New Year Celebration last Sat, a happening event I'd say. Upon the many request, I made the nasi lemak (no one notice that there's actually no santan/lemak watsoever in the rice) and technically, its nasi katok un-wrapped lol. It's all bout the health baby..banarnya terlupa simpan santan but since no one notice, I guess tat went fine :P Was a bit 50-50 about the sambal pusu though', was freaking out a bit coz somehow i feel the taste didn't go as I want it to be, but since everyone likes it, tats ok then.

THE lunch

Almost lost my voice because I've been featuring in almost all the bands as the singer - I'm talking about the battle of the rock band thing. A slow start since most of the members were playing poker, ada tia yang masak, ada tia yg M.I.A, mcm2 la, but it all end up pretty well. I think everyone enjoyed it as much as I do walaupun i feel like hassling almost everyone when its their turn lol.

I have been grieving. Have been meaning to post something several times, but I just couldn't do it. Most of the blogging works that I did was by my mac so initiating the blogging using this tiny fun size acer of mine was a really painful process. I miss my mac.

A series of unfortunate events...

So, it's been 2 days now and my ibook is still not rebooting to its system. I feel like I'm losing hope. Thank god I remember to backup all those old photos. New ones - no hope :'(. Was thinking of sending it to the shop but for mac, I know for a fact that if they can't fix it, they'd probably ask you to buy a new one 'coz they have this policy thingy to not dismantle any mac stuff - watever. Sedih ku eyh. I bought this laptop from nanah...too bad it only last for 4 years :'(

I've been going to the library still. Doing my report which never seems to finish. Tsk Tsk Tsk. I almost lost my ID card, and it blew me away to the point that I feel suicidal. But eventually, I discover that I left it at the library itself, thank god!!! Syukur alhamdullillah.

So, when i was mental-ing about the "lost ID" and the "comatosed" ibook, the internet at home is not working again. Couldn't get any better ey? I was damn hungry but didn't bother to waste anymore time, i was pissed off and i feel like i'm the biggest loner in the world with a series of unfortunate mishaps happening to her. I'm being melodramatic here, i know, mind you, I'm just blogging :P So gimme a break.

I started to feel better eventually. Managed to finish my work, one of my report, finally. Found my ID card (almost feel like hugging that pleasant nice security library man :P). Managed to feed myself. Have the dudes around so at least I don't feel like a loner. Managed to smile, joke and laugh - yes, i discover that I'm still functioning well.

Owh yea, did I tell you guys that I am basically alone today, alone as in I'm alone at home. My mama (edah) and dada (syuk) stayed over at Nizam's for 2 days now because of the crappy internet. It's a nice change...now I know how it feels like to live alone :) ... nice. Just one of those times when you feel nice having your own quality time (an irony since tadi aku feel macam loner lol). See, i think i won't have any problem whatsover living alone, I'm a big girl. Anyway, 2 days ago, neither 3 of us were at home. They were at nizam's - me after library went to kiMi's to continue doing some work and in the end I decided to sleep there (on the sofa btw). Might as well since it's Sunday. I'm grateful.

My IBook is acting up! I can't reboot the damn thing! Daym...my whole LCP report is jeorpadised, all gone...argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You won't believe this, but now I have to go rewrite the whole damn thing! Sacrificing my Sat night...So here I am, sitting in the library, on SAT nite. Pathetic. Internet drumah lagi ngok! This better be worth the trouble.
