My Geeking World

Thanks to Khai for this candid photo, without it no one would actually believe I was geeking LOL

I've been going to the library for the past 2 days...So you'd know, I have NEVER gone to the library to study, not even the Study Landscape (SL) at the faculty. And this would be the first, an achievement I have to say. I'm not really a library type of person, I mean I love reading books and all (fictions I mean) but just not in the library. It's just doesn't work much for me. I would end up sleeping most of the time anyway. Anywho, this whole thing actually started because I was having trouble to start off with my LCP report (Longitudinal Care Project) which basically involves writing up a case history of a patient who I have been following for about 6 months. More or less like the 1st year SSM (Special Study Module) that I did back in Brunei.

But this time I did. I'd have to say I'm amazed to even get my PBL stuff done last night, continuous for 2 hours. See, if I'm at home, Ill be distracted with a lot of things like MSN, Facebook, Blogs, YouTube, teh tarik and a whole lot of other stuffs that you could possibly think of hehehe. Actually, I think its because the company that strengthen my will to study hahaha, if I'm alone i'll be fast asleep. Thanks to Khai and Jimster for dragging me to the Geeking Dungeon LOL.
jimster's studying cove

Nevertheless, don't get mislead by all this talk...Ever heard of the phrase "Work hard, Play hard too"? Guess what we 2 did last night after geeking -- watching a Malay horror movie in the library hahaha.

p/s: No, we didn't go hunt for ghost at the library LOL

The Tale of Nasi Katok

So yesterday, I decided to cook myself nasi katok, my own special Nasi Katok LOL. Thank god there's chickens still, just enough to feed me. Had the kitchen by myself so it makes things easier for me.

When I say special, it's because I modified the menu just a bit. Instead of frying the chicken, I made Sweet and Sour Chicken instead (taisliur ku banarnya and plus, couldn't find the Adabi frying powder for chicken). Even made myself an omelette, a pathetic one I'd have to say because I still have yet to learn how to flip the whole egg without ruining its shape. Ngok! Cana kan jadi lawa mun frying pan nya lagi NOT the non-sticking type and the Turners lagi pathetic LOL. So yea, heck nevermind, asal ada and dapat dimakan, jaditah LOL.

MY Ingredients, just in case you haven't noticed:
  • Fried Omelette
  • Sweet and Sour chicken (Ideally, Fried Chicken)
  • Fried Anchovies
  • Sambal, the paste
Still couldn't make it spicier or hotter despite my attempt of using the green chillies. Next time gonna try blend the Chillies and add them into the paste.

So, while I was eating my breakfast/lunch/dinner meal, a fellow hungry friend of mine was asking what meal I'm having. I told him about the nasi katok and realising he was craving for it, kasian ku, I've decided to give him what's left of my dishes. Baik ja tinggal satu ayam ah, damit lagi tu LOL but thankfully, the paste, anchovies and omelette were still there. So, creatively, i decided to pack him one - The Nasi Katok - in a container kekeke. Special lagi tu LOL. He decided then to come over and get it himself and yes, he did katok LOL.

Evilish of me...and of my fren, we promo the Nasi Katok eventhough there's no more of it. It works tho', my friend ate the whole thing LIVE on MSN, videocalling and webcaming in front of our other friends. HAHAHA. Atu jahat. Seriously, if there's more chicken in the fridge, I would have make some more, kasian ku meliat. Insyaallah, next time there'll be more :D

Pixxies I Promised...

The 3D glass I wore during My Bloody Valentine 3D Movie

Partyyy all weekend~~~

Had one of the greatest weekend ever...one of those weekend where you just don't wanna end, and you wish it will stay and never over. Loved it loved it loved it.

Thursday

After clinic, I went to starbucks to hangout with Kikie and Khai, watched movie Sex Drive, which was super duper hilarious btw (Khal, you better watch this one, u'll love it :P) and then eventually went to Kikie and Mimi's crib to chill. Super siukness, too bad that I had early classes esuknya, if not chillaxing sampai pagi buta tah ku tu.
My ever-so-patient bodyguards LOL

Friday

After hospital, went to chill at Kikie and Mimi's crib again(maybe at this point onwards, I shall called it KiMi's crib LOL). It was fun really because not only did we chill, I got the pleasure to eat Kikie's and Khai's cooking - Sausages Masak Merah and Black Pepper Chicken - super duper nyaman. See, I think guys cooking is really the ultimate nyaman-ness pasal dorang jarang masak and if they do, nyaman banar tah tu. We watched P.Ramlee Bujang Lapok, made fogs in the living room and eventually towards the end of the night, some more peeps came over to help organise and prepare for the LAN (gaming) party the next day. That was fun. And it was even more memorably fun because it was snowing on the way back home :D

Saturday - The LAN Party.

Gamers Gadgets

Lemme break this down so you folks can read in a FUN way... :P
  • Woke up late actually, thankful to Kikie for calling me at that time.
  • My flatmates didn't go pasal dorang ke Aberdeen with Nizam, Al and Nizam's friend.
  • Anywho, I arrived with an empty tummy, so decided to go for brunch at Mr.T with Kikie. That was first time for me, ampir panya. Just to let you know, Mr.T is like a fast food restaurant macam KFC ish, yeap, chicken was fullfilling, baik ja inda salty.
  • The party was a  slow start for me pasal it turned out Rockband si Syuk inda dapat main because of technical difficulty. Memaloi tah awal2 atu, listening to the peeps playing their drums and guitars until kena tagur bising oleh orang dibawah flat LOL.
  • Party itself wasn't that quiet anyway, pasal the gamers were forming choirs of shouts, screams, laughs, shrieks and other forms of sound you can think of. Sebelah kiri orang main PC Games, sebelah kanan orang main PS3, while tengah2 (macam myself) sitting around chillaxing, makan2, ambil gambar and other stuffs to fill the time.
  • After a while, we then decided to go to one of our fren's house to get their Guitar Heroes World Tour (macam Rockband-ish but better). I made the trip, together with 5 other guys - that was fun sal becali saja.
  • It was even more funny when we realised that rupanya ada barang ketinggalan, so Guitar Heroes delayed. But it was worth the wait.
  • While some were making fogs in Kikie's room, others were playing Pictionaries (which i missed pasal I was hunting for the Guitar Heroes, macam siuk plang kekeke).

Pictionaries
  • I was quite high towards the end of the night LOL. Did some singing, heroing the Guitar Heroes (apakan..LOL).
  • Afterparty, the crews chillaxing, foggin', drinking teh tarik and watching IP Man - a Chinese movie about Bruce Lee's mentor (KHAL babe, this is a MUST WATCH MOVIE for YOU).
  • Went back home at 5:30 :D
Sunday

Was eventful pasal....

  • I went for an "adventurous" hunt with Khai for Subway Halal @ Pollokshields East (I've learnt that now) and stuffed ourselves with 3 Long Foots of Meatball Marinara (nyaman~~~~), Beef Cheese, Spicy Italian and Subway Melt.
  • Found a shop, a beauty salon which was named after ME!
  • First time ever to visit Limin and Sur's crib, enjoying our Subway while watching Smallville yang udah lama ku ketinggalan.
  • I bought myself the Accessories bag that I've always wanted even before Xmas. Panya kena tapuk time Sales ah...
  • Watched Underworld 3 with my 2 bodyguards, Limin, Sur and Rizah, and also my flatmates plus Nizam, Al and Nizam's fren. LOL talk about awkwardness....
  • Went to KiMi's crib to play Guitar Heroes with the Dalcross Pass peeps, continue with my guitar lessons, sambung makan wats left of our Subway and chillaxing ;P

NOW...That's what I called a GOOD FANTASTIC WEEKEND...

:D

P/S: More pictures to come...

Murtabak / Crepe?

Yesterday, Edah bought me a crepe, and I was imagining it would be crispy and just like those you get from the Mall shop. It was a banana chocolate crepe. Kali liat, mcm murtabak (sia sia pun), not even a slightest hint of crisp. Taste like chocolate with roti dosai. Sia sia pun ja crepe di Brunei. Wawawa.

The Tale of Lada Kisar

I've learnt to make LADA KISAR from scratch today!!! Wanted to try if I could make the sambal for my nasi katok next time, so I decided to prepare a stock of lada kisar first. Mom sent me a plastic full of lada kering last year, haven't done anything with it until TODAY! Kekeke. So there I was, memotong2 lada kering, with my rubber gloves (the kind of gloves kena pakai d hospital lagi tu) LOL. Didn't know you were not supposed to touch them with your bare hands, macam banar aku ah mula mula. Baik ja mama come into rescue, have to call her for directions. Yeaa, I successfully made my own lada kisar and buat sambal pusu. Satu saja kurang, inda padas :P

Hell of a weekend...

Phew...what a night~

Went to watch a 3D movie tadi - My Bloody Valentine with the rest of my Glasgow friends. It was actually planned out together with sushi/chinese dinner to celebrate Khai Azmi's bday. Its been a while since I ate sushi, I miss escapade sushi back home. Dimsum too. Anyone back home, if you're reading this, makankan untukku ah.

We're supposed to go sleepover at Nizam's but....yea, something came up. A series of unfortunate events. I'm being melodramatic...sal my iTunes is on mellow playlist. Kekeke.

Business baru :P

There are lotsa things that I, or rather we, wanna make / bake / do after going through so many "craving" moments. I guess everyone who are living overseas would experience the same notion. Anyway, yesterday, we made...
  • SweetCorn!!! - in our very own style lol. Actually, thats a lie, banarnya taisliur kan those sweetcorn yang bejual di Nelson. Kekeke. Easily done, just buy sweetcorn in a package, steamed them, and then mixed with the sweetcorn with butter, salt, pepper (depends on your preference, I like black pepper :D)

  • Chocolate Pancake / Chocolate Malaya (without peanuts unfortunately :( if only) - this one Al yang buat, since he's a choc-fanatic. Taste nice, but would be much more nice if ada peanuts just like kuih Malaya atu...*droolz*

Banarnya there are more, still pending...like

  • Nasi Katok - haven't got around with it yet
  • My famous baked macaroni bolognese with cheese - tho' the stuffs are already in fridge
  • My Oreo Cream Dessert - haven't found the heavy whipped cream to replace the nestle cream
  • Popia / Spring Rolls - coz I haven't found mixed vegetable yet
  • Roti John - because we haven't bought the minced beef yet
  • Rojak - because no ingredient available here

Another Day At QMD

Woke up at 12pm today LOL. Blame it on the new iPod Nano. Last night, I was really excited to have my iPod delivered tomorrow that I started surfing for new released songs, checking out the Billboard Chart. At about 2am, I was still awake, that I started to download the latest tv series that my brother ever asked me to get. In the end, I decided to watch Drumline until I was asleep.

And then there I was, at 12pm, waking up, with my NEW iPod, fresh, waiting for me on my table :D

Carnival Day~

It's Weekend!

Yesterday first day back to uni, today holiday again :D Don't you just love it? Kekeke. Last night, I watched Puaka Tebing Biru, a Malaysian horror movie starred by Umi Aida, Nasha Aziz and Fahrin Ahmad. I made Syuk and Al watched it with me LOL. I'd say one of the best scary movie ever made by Malaysia, a thrilling storyline that gives you never ending suspense. A bit dragging simply because the story are made into chunks so viewer can connect all the puzzling pieces together. Love it. I remember mom telling me she liked it because it kinda remind her that Thai horror movie, Nang Nak. To Khal, if you haven't seen this one, go watch it :D

Enough with horror. Let's talk about adventure! So we went to the carnival and met Ken and Nuar, our Bruneian Glasgow friends :D I'm grateful to find these 2 guys because Edah, Syuk and Al were not that keen to go for the rides, baik ja ada dangan kan naik rides gila2 kekekeke.

This was the last ride we took. One of the scariest, imagine yourself spun around high up in the air upside down...slowly LOL. Got myself dizzy after that :P

Can u believe this? If im few inches shorter, I won't be legible for any of the rides!

Look how happy those 2 guys are! If only I got myself one too..bummer..

Wish List 2009

Gadgets

There are a lot of things I wanna buy. Things that I dream buying back in 2008 but never bring myself to buy eventhough I have the cash for it. I finally get myself to surf Amazon few days ago just to checkout the stuffs, and I know believe betapa siuknya online window shopping ani, especially if you come across the word "free shipping in UK". LOL.

  • Wishlist 1: PC Speakers. While surfing, i've come across these lots...wawawa, lawa2. Saja kan share. Harga pun lawa :D

  • Wishlist 2: Headphones. This one I found is Sennheiser  HD202 (a friend recommended me this brand). I'm gonna buy this one...Soon :D
  • Wishlist 3: Ipod Nano

Guess what!?

Friday I begin...

Holiday's over officially today and I'll be starting my new semester. I have lectures to attend at 9am and PBL at the hospital at 1:30pm. Funny isn't it, I don't know why they decided to have us start today when we could be starting on 12th. Today we start, then the following days are weekend and then Monday, no class. Why why why??? I don't mind starting, but its the travelling part to the hospital is what bugging me. It's bloody exhausting.

Ok, i'll stop whining. It's a new year and I'll learn to start my day with a huge smile plastered on my face, no matter what.

Oh yea!!! Ok, there's one reason why I'm writing up this post, the IRN BRU CARNIVAL!!!

FYI - IRN BRU is a brand name of a drink. Apparently its really famous here, like COKE and PEPSI famous. In fact, I think it's much more famous than those two. Anyway, the carnival has been going on since December actually, but we - as in the Glasgow Bruneians - decided to go this Saturday, which is tomorrow! I'm looking forward on this one, because...............there're gonna be RIDES!!!!!!! Wippeeee~~~~

Did i tell u?

...That i am digital scrapping again? :P

Its a BRAND NEW YEAR!!!

Hello peeps~

Its 2009!!! Another brand new year to begin a new start in life. 2008 has been a year of ups and down, a rollercoster journey ride for me.

Beginning of the year 08 was really painful for me. Hectic life as well. Remember me organising the Charity Evening, spending my December holidays, hunting for sponsors all over Brunei, driving all the way to KB, working my ass of days and nites just to make the Charity Evening come to live. It did and it was a wonderful ride indeed.

With Charity Evening over, i had my last semester in IM. Leaving IM was a hard one, who would have guessed the 3 years in IM would bring sooo many sweet memories.

Then, my summer holiday, the remaining of my days in Brunei before i fly off to Glasgow. It was a bittersweet memories. I remember going back and forth to hospital to visit grandma @ SICC, sleeping over at the not so comfy bench outside with my cousin, photoshopping and learning to digital scrap from my mentor cuz Khal, running a blog..it was exhausting but nevertheless memorable and surprisingly fun.

Then i lost my grandpa, whom I love dearly and unconditionally. I would never forget that moment when i lost him.

You would have thought losing someone you love is hard, but it is even harder to leave someone behind for a long time. I vividly remember, giving my last visit to granny who was still in the hospital, it still breaks my heart just to mention it. For the first time in my 23 years of life, I had to leave my family behind in Brunei, so i could continue my studies. Sacrifices they say, and its a hard one for me. I'm grateful to have such a wonderful suportive loving family, they might not be perfect, but they are to me in every way. They made me who I am today.

Setting my first baby steps in a foreign country was a hard one too. Adjusting to the new culture, new weather, new family, new surrounding were all so overwhelming. One could just crash and failed to adapt. How grateful I am to have good friends whom i considered to be my new family now, Edah and Syukri. We believe our group dynamics are the best among the rest because we believe we are just like siblings. Celebrating Raya without parents was among the hardest thing I ever imagined. Thank god to the new tech.

3 months studying in my new Glasgow Uni was not that bad either. Eventhough it was hard to accept changes, but i'm adapting and getting used to it. I met new friends. Learn to be independent. Gain new experiences.

Now here I am, reminiscing the good old days of 2008. It was a bittersweet journey.

A good friend ever told me and i quote "Learn to love the life u live and learn to live the life you love". I learnt now :)

Loves...
